Anspec House Inspection Service was started in 1992 by Colin Anderson. Colin had been a builder in Palmerston North for almost 30 years and he was the first in this area to set up a business solely concerned with house inspections. As the AA inspects cars for prospective purchasers, Colin wanted to do the same thing with houses. In the ten years that the business had been running, Colin had inspected thousands of houses of all ages and types. Early in 2002, Colin decided that he would like to retire from house inspecting and the business was taken over by Jolyon Claridge. The name was then changed to Anspec-All Homes. Jolyon was born in Auckland but had spent nearly all his life in the UK where he had been involved in the construction industry for 25 years as a designer, builder and inspector of properties mainly in Gloucestershire and the Lake District. He, and his wife Gillian, moved to Palmerston North in February 2002 and are now happily settled in Aokautere.
