House inspection charges vary between $300 and $500 for a full written report.

A modern 2-3 bedroom house on concrete foundations would be at the bottom of the range. A large 1900s villa would be at the top.

Inspections up to 20kms from Palmerston North are free of any travel charges. Above that there is a charge of $1 per km up to a maximum of $50.

Council charges for LIM reports are generally:

• MDC - $310
• Horowhenua - $220
